Dispelling the myths of the modern end-times system

If you are like most Christians today, you believe that current events in the Middle East are signs of the “end times” and that we are seeing Bible prophecy unfold before our eyes. According to these beliefs, the Lord is getting ready to return all the Jews to Israel and restore that nation in what many believe to be the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant. Adherents to this system, called dispensationalism, believe that most of the prophecies in the Old and New Testaments have a future fulfillment even in our own day. Do the prophecies written over 2500 years ago really speak to the events of our day?
What you probably didn’t know is that the modern end-times system was created in the 1830’s and was not held by the Church for the first 1800 years of its existence. These views were reinforced through an errant understanding of Bible prophecy by men such as John Nelson Darby, the man responsible for the doctrine of the secret rapture. Darby’s system eventually became the dominant view of eschatology, or the doctrine of the end of the world.
Most Christians today do not know how to read Bible prophecy. The primary reason for this is that Bible prophecy is almost always taught without any historical context whatsoever. Teachers and pastors looking to promote their particular view of the end times quite often interpret passages from Isaiah, Daniel, and Ezekiel without providing any historical context that would allow the passages to be properly understood.
To address this, I have produced a series of articles and videos that explore Bible prophecy within a proper historical context. We will dive into passages to see what the prophets had to say to Israel during their encounters with Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. Finally, I have written a comprehensive book that provides an in-depth analysis of Old Testament and New Testament Bible prophecy. My book is the result of over 10 years’ research and is available in print form, as an e-book, or as a 10-part video series by following the YouTube link below. These resources will help you to better understand Bible prophecy and to be aware of the origins and errors of the modern end-times system.

The purpose of this website is to provide a historical context with which to read and understand Bible prophecy. When read within the proper context, topics such as the end times, rapture, tribulation, and the millennium will be more readily understood.

Most of the modern end-times views are based on a false distinction between the Church and Israel. See the origins of these views and how they gradually became part of Church doctrine.

What obligation do Christians have to the modern nation of Israel? This article explores the errant beliefs that drive the politics and spirituality of many Christians.

Many people believe that the return of the Jews to modern Israel was a fulfillment of ancient Bible prophecy. But was it? See how the end-times views shaped modern Israel.
What does the Bible have to say about the promises and covenants with ancient Israel? See what scripture says about the purpose for Israel and the Church in the New Covenant.
This book was written to provide a historical context to Bible prophecy. Each chapter will take the reader through a journey of biblical history beginning with the Assyrian Empire and up to the events surrounding the destruction of the Jewish temple in AD 70. Along the way, the reader will be shown how the prophetic books of the Bible relate to the events that occurred during the time in which they were written.
